We friends who already got used to the new normal, wanted to break the monotony of indoors. We also had a celebration planned.
So, with all the precautions and care we started our journey…. Here we come “KERALA”

This God’s own country has a wide landscape and various experiences to capture. But in these unpredictable times, we limited ourselves to a leisure stay at Munnar and Alleppey.
To make our tour easy, we choose a MakeMyTrip package. But we faced some discomforts with our choice of package. I will have another blog on “What can go wrong with a Package booking”?
For now, I will take you through good memories we had with our Kerala Trip, Munnar being our first.
With all pumped up energy, we landed in Kochi around 7:30am and started our road trip to Munnar. Early morning drive was scenic with pine forests, valleys and hair pin bend roads.
Best Time to Visit: Winter seems to be best time. We can escape the humidity and road trips won’t be tiring

On the way we stopped at a Valera water falls. Before any imaginations fly, let me tell you that this is just a photo-op place and nothing much to interact with waterfalls. The tiered waterfalls was a good glimpse though.
This is a rush spot for tourists so waited until there was some space for us to maintain distance.

Our idea: Pit stops at tourist free spots to enjoy lush green areas and breath mask free
After a good drive of 4 to 5 hours, we checked into our hotel “Lake Forest Resort”. The room balcony had a great view of the forest and a lake on Sengulam dam. The view was breathtaking.
Here was our wake up song.

Our Observation: Hospitality is badly hit by Covid. Many hotels have cut down on a lot of room amenities and are providing them only on request. Ensure that the hotels you book are as per your expectations else there will be some discomfort.
Munnar is an outstanding hill station with winding lanes of tea plantations and picturesque towns. The scale of these plantations is never ending. It’s up-to us to soak in this green grandeur.

This is truly a tea lover’s paradise. One cannot stop appreciating the hard work that goes into growing, maintaining and extracting tea powder from these tiny leaves.

Munnar Blooms: While tea plants are the heart of this landscape, flowers gave a color pop to this land.

Celebration
Festive season plus birthday is a super hit moment. We left no stone unturned to celebrate our best friend’s birthday.
It started with early morning spa, then cake cutting, picturesque sight seeing, licious dinner buffet at Tall Tree Resort and called it a day with Camp Fire get together.

Our short stay in Munnar was fulfilling.
Every moment was filled with joy, smiles and unwinding from the stress.
